A huge well done to our Virginia Water U7 Ravens, who played their first ever matches for the club yesterday in the 3v3 format at Knaphill.

The boys were split into two Ravens teams and enjoyed a fantastic morning of football, playing a series of matches against teams from Woking FC and Meadow Sports.

For many of the boys, this was their very first experience of representing Virginia Water in a proper match environment, and they absolutely loved it.

They played five matches, with plenty of goals, great tackles, passing, teamwork and, most importantly at this age, lots of smiles and enjoyment.

The 3v3 format is a brilliant introduction to grassroots football, giving every player plenty of touches of the ball and the chance to get involved throughout each game.

It was fantastic to see the boys putting into practice what they have been learning in training, supporting each other and growing in confidence as the morning went on.

A massive thank you as well to all the parents who came along to support them and helped make their first matchday such a memorable one.

This is only the beginning for our newest Ravens, and we can't wait to watch them develop over the season.

Well done boys — your first ever games in a Virginia Water shirt! ❤️⚽?

Up the Waters!
