They started the game in much the same way against a side who has always given us a tough test.
But, Ravens had a certain edge about them with some great work in the midfield from Teddy and Stanley resulting in some great switches in play that pulled the Oppo out of position. Stanley opened the scoring off a lovely asst. from Ted B. 1 - 0. Soon after Stanley involved again with an asst. for Teddy 2 - 0. A nice steady start, but well noted that our defense were snubbing out the Oppos runs on goal, and keeping Daniel busy with his feet, with some great pass backs. Archie G particularly doing a great job of this, and Clark winning the physical test on the Oppo winger.
Back in the Oppos half, the Ravens kept pressing, and leaving Teddy a teasing attempt of his "weaker" left foot looped over the keepers head 3 - 0.
Kayden off the bench and in charge of corners then puts a lovely corner in the path of the quick thinking Ollie B, who pounces on the loose ball for his first goal for the Ravens. What a lovely reaction from his team mates for that. 4 - 0
Half Time
A comfortable cushion, but the Oppo came out fighting in 2nd half with a sustained period of possession, which was rewarded with a very good goal. 4 - 1 A little bit of a resurgence, and Oppo started to gain a bit of control, and got another..4 - 2. Ringing some changes with our dribbling maestros of Coben on the left wing, who just keeps coming out with the ball, but on the other side of the pitch, our very own Speedmeister was in a bit of a tustle with his opposite number. But, with an amazing run of play from the back, we saw one of the sweetest goals with Oliver crossing into the path of Ted B to level with his Brother 5 - 2.
Ravens now had their tail feathers up, and pressuring the Oppo deep in their half. This drew a corner, for which Teddy thought he would put onto the back post (quite literally), and this clattered in..6 - 2. Into the last few minutes, the Oppo were pushing and shoving their way to a dangerously "scorable" free kick for Teddy, who obliged for his 4th 7 - 2.

Every player played their part today, and was some of the best football we've seen them play. Was great to see Toby playing with confidence, Clarks crunching (well timed tackles), Louie B a solid job when needed, and Louie's selfless passing from the left wing. Also, whilst Daniel had very few shots to save, his footwork was amazing, wrong footing an attacking player like Bruce Grobelaar.

But, MOTM goes to a player who kept his head in the midfield when things were a little physical, and made some amazing through balls that were perfectly weighted. Also, noted that his attitude in training has been great. Well deserved MOTM and next weeks Captain - Stanley.
2nd MOTM (not always given), goes to Teddy for some delightful goals.

Seven goals from 4 players- with some outstanding teamwork from all , We couldn't be prouder of them today !!

Next up , a cup match !
